About English Department

The Department of English was established in 1973 with Prof. P. M. Bhaskar and Prof. Shridhar Wakte as its founding faculty. Dr. K. T. Mahajan joined in 2003, Dr. V. Rathod in 2005, and Dr. Samad Shaikh joined as Principal and Head in the same year. Dr. V. N. Harkal and Shri. C. C. Chorghade joined as full-time faculty in 2015.

The department organised National Seminars in 2006 and 2012-13, reflecting its strong research orientation. It is a fully staffed department with all posts filled. Dr. K. T. Mahajan currently serves as Head of Department. Both Dr. Mahajan and Dr. Harkal are Ph.D. holders, while Mr. Chorghade’s research work is in progress.

The department maintains a departmental library with more than 50 reference books, and faculty members prepare special notes for slow learners to ensure no student is left behind.
